April 2012 overview

Catching up is hard, but I have to at least try!  Here's the entire month of April in a nutshell. Maybe someday you'll see March.  Maybe!

 We went to the Easter Egg hunt at the Riverwoods.  Each girl got ONE egg.  It was a madhouse.  Ellie was terrified of the Easter Bunny.

 

 We decided to try another egg hunt: The Premier Cosmo Cougar Egg Hunt at Lavell Edwards Stadium.  They made us sit and wait while all the latecomers filed in.  Annoying to say the least.  But, the girls had more fun, got some more basket goodies, and felt the success!

 Ellie still didn't like Cosmo or the Easter bunny.

 

 Easter morning was busy, but it was nice that Brett was relieved of church duties for a day.  I can't believe how big Ellie looks!

 We welcomed a new cousin: Baby Avery.  That sparked in the girls the idea to play "Hospital Nursery".  I didn't realize how many dolls we have until they all get laid out in their bassinets!

 We finally made it out on a windy day to fly kites!  It was awesome!  After Katie got bored with kites, she fielded stray soccer balls from a practice.

 

 We talked Daddy into joining us (which meant we stayed out much longer than anticipated while we waited for him).  But even Amanda and Ellie got their kites up, and Dad tried to beat Mom in height.

 

 

 Katie lost her first baby tooth, finally!  She was getting worried that she'd be the only one in her class that never lost a tooth.  Then she was sad to relinquish the tooth to the fairy! It was a tearful farewell that finally took place a few nights later.  The $2 bill helped eased the sorrow!

 

 And Dear Old Dad went over the hill!  We hope he still feels like superman!

 I stole Brett away for a weekend for his birthday. It was one of those surprises that he "suspected" but didn't know the details. We walked through the new City Creek and hung out will all the crowds!

 We walked through temple square and enjoyed the tulips.  We enjoyed dinner at the Roof, a night at the Anniversary Inn, went to the temple, went to the Symphony performance of Classical Mystery Tour (SUCH a great concert!).  It was a "superfun" weekend!

And Ellie is adding much to her vocabulary, both verbal and sign language.  Amanda is reinforcing train (which Ellie calls choo choo).  Ellie also says/signs: ball, shoe (sounds like gush), signs cheese, says thank you, and tons of animal sounds.  I love this stage--she's so fun!  She follows around her sisters and loves to join in their play.  They usually get along well except when Ellie becomes the destroyer and tosses aside their tea party, school time, or train layout.
